With each new build I'm releasing I'd like to write up a little blog post with a change log and info on what I'd like to try working on next! The theme of this build was implementing different terrain types and movement stuff associated with it!
Next up I want to continue the terrain train by working on combat adjustments. Different types of terrain should adjust the Armor and Avoid of its occupants. Those effects should factor into the combat predictions that pop up and that the CPU uses along with the actual fighting that happens!
Changes
- Tiles on the map can now have Terrain! Each Terrain has info including a Name, Armor and Avoid modifiers, a Movement Cost, and what kind of Movement Types are allowed.
- Units now take different Terrain's Movement Costs and allowed Types into account when trying to walk around the map.
- The CPU also recognizes these changes and takes them into account when trying to reach the player's units.
